The Bold and Beautiful Kitchen

This kitchen remodel began with a space that felt closed off, dated, and difficult to use. The original layout lacked flow, storage, and proper work zones, so our first priority was improving function before introducing any design elements.

To open the kitchen and create a better connection to the rest of the home, we removed a wall and designed a seating and storage peninsula in its place. This instantly expanded the workspace and gave the room a more inviting layout. We also removed a window to extend the cabinetry, allowing for a full wall of storage, appliances, and continuous countertops.

The design is centered around bold porcelain countertops with deep greens, soft blues, and warm gold veining. These surfaces inspired the overall palette. We paired them with an Autograph Edition appliance suite in black and champagne bronze, including a 36 inch dual fuel range, beverage fridge, built in microwave, and ice maker. Matching plumbing and hardware create a cohesive finish.

The cabinetry features a natural white oak tone that adds warmth and contrast to the dramatic stone. A hand finished plaster hood introduces texture and softens the bolder materials. Every selection was made to reflect the client’s style while prioritizing daily function.

This project transforms a previously tight and impractical kitchen into a thoughtfully planned, visually striking, and efficient space. The remodel is now set up for modern living with improved storage, flow, and everyday usability.

Little Powder Room, Big Drama

This powder room renovation is the perfect example of how a small space can make a major impact. Our clients wanted a moody, dramatic, and luxurious powder bath that felt custom and intentional. We transformed a plain white starter space into a high end, design forward room filled with texture, depth, and personality.

The design began with a curated moodboard focused on rich color, layered textures, and modern accents. From there, we selected premium materials that elevated the architecture, including bold patterned wallpaper, warm wood tones, luxe brass fixtures, and custom white oak fluted doors. These elements created a balanced combination of drama and refinement that fits seamlessly into the rest of the home.

A Marble-Clad Spa Bath with Pinky’s Arched Steel Door

Step into effortless luxury in this spa-inspired primary bath retreat—anchored by a show-stopping arched steel door by Pinky’s that sets the tone the moment you enter. From the soft glow of alabaster sconces to the quiet power of a fully integrated Mr. Steam system, every detail was designed to bring tranquility home.

Walls are wrapped in honed White Rhino marble for a rich, veined canvas that’s both bold and serene. Inside the steam shower, a built-in marble bench invites restoration, while a freestanding matte soaking tub creates a sculptural moment framed by natural textures and soft lighting.

Brizo’s luxe brushed gold fixtures layer in warmth, from the rainfall shower and diverter trims to the wall-mounted vanity faucets. Thoughtfully paired with Lucca White Venatino tile flooring, plastered beige cabinetry, and a curated mix of modern and old-world lighting, this 134-square-foot sanctuary delivers elegance without excess.

Over the course of three meticulous months in preconstruction, we guided our client through every step—from permit approvals to layout planning and finish selection—to ensure this major renovation unfolds seamlessly during construction. With permits now approved and final designs locked in, we're just weeks away from breaking ground.

This coastal-inspired kitchen was designed for a Santa Ana home that needed a serene, sophisticated upgrade—something timeless yet fully functional for modern living. The layout was reimagined to improve flow, maximize storage, and reflect a calm, natural palette reminiscent of California’s coastal lifestyle.

Using soft, sandy tones and clean-lined cabinetry, this kitchen achieves a light and airy aesthetic while maintaining warmth and usability. A generous center island adds prep space and gathering potential, while the cabinetry and appliance layout were refined through detailed elevations and 3D modeling to ensure every inch was optimized.

Heritage Restored on Central

This 1920s historic home had beautiful bones—but years of neglect left it in need of major love. Our team at MDT Design & Build preserved its original charm while completely reimagining the interior to meet modern expectations for luxury and functionality.

We honored the historical significance of the property by retaining the original architectural façade and refreshing the entire exterior with all-new siding, paint, and trim—carefully selected to complement the era and meet preservation requirements.

Upland Full Kitchen Renovation

This renovation began with a closed-off kitchen and living space that lacked flow and natural light. Our clients—a young family—wanted something fresh, functional, and family-friendly. The solution? We opened up the floorplan to create a seamless, light-filled kitchen and living area that feels both modern and welcoming.

Anchored by a full suite of ZLINE appliances, this kitchen was designed to let the finishes shine. From the all-white cabinetry to the sleek porcelain countertops, every element was carefully selected to frame and enhance the beauty of the appliances.

A showstopping 60” built-in refrigerator and freezer with polished gold handles

A bold 48” ZLINE range paired with a custom ZLINE hood in matching gold trim

To add warmth, we installed light oak flooring throughout the space, balancing the clean palette with natural texture. At the entry, we replaced the original front door with a 42” modern upgrade, complete with an extra-long handle that ties into the kitchen’s elevated aesthetic.

Modern Exterior Renovation

What began as a tired, rock-heavy yard is now a luxury, beach-inspired resort—right at home. Our client envisioned a space that felt like a getaway, and we delivered a complete transformation that blends comfort, style, and high-end functionality.

The heart of the project is a fully renovated pool, now finished in crisp white PebbleTec with a wireless Hayward system, color-changing LED lighting, and two waterfalls that bring movement and serenity to the space.

Adjacent to the pool, we created a dedicated floating seating area anchored by a porcelain-clad linear fire pit, offering a relaxing and stylish place to unwind poolside. Just beyond that, a 43’ x 19’ custom patio cover houses a second outdoor living zone—complete with a 60” gas fireplace, Lynx ceiling-mounted heaters, and a fully equipped outdoor kitchen for effortless entertaining.

Paonazzo Marble Kitchen

In the City of Orange, California, this full kitchen renovation—paired with a 200 sq. ft. addition—completely transformed the way this home functions and feels. That small square footage gain made a huge impact, allowing us to open up what was once a maze of small rooms into a spacious, flowing kitchen and living area made for gathering.

Aesthetically grounded by eight slabs of stunning Paonazzo marble, the space is both refined and dramatic. The addition of arched hallway entries pays homage to timeless architectural charm, while Brizo black and gold finishes, including a sleek pot filler, bring in a bold layer of luxury.

The kitchen was built around Viking appliances, including a 60” range, tower-style refrigerator and freezer, and thoughtful additions like a plate warmer, under-cabinet refrigeration, and a dedicated coffee and beverage station. A 42” workstation sink anchors the prep area, and a 32-foot frameless glass door floods the space with light and seamless indoor-outdoor flow.

Designed and built for a pair of loving grandparents, The House of Paonazzo is more than just a kitchen—it’s a heart-of-the-home space built for hosting, storytelling, and creating memories for generations to come.

Riverside Second Story ADU

When our client made the decision to sell her Long Beach home, she wasn’t downsizing—she was upgrading her lifestyle. Nestled above her daughter’s home, this custom-built second-story ADU is a one-bedroom, one-bath retreat with all the comforts of independent living, beautifully integrated into the main residence.

Designed around the client’s love for Southwest-inspired aesthetics, the space features warm earth tones, curated finishes, and a dreamy walk-in closet with a built-in laundry area. Structural modifications were extensive—from foundation reinforcement to framing upgrades—but our team managed every trade, detail, and inspection to ensure a seamless build.

This ADU is more than an extension—it’s a sanctuary that brings family close while preserving privacy and personal style. Built with care and intention, The Sunset Nest is proof that home is wherever you feel most yourself.

Norco ADU

This 500 sq. ft. ADU, paired with a matching 500 sq. ft. garage, was thoughtfully built on a hillside lot in Norco, California—a location that added complexity (and excitement!) to the build, including the use of a crane to install the roof trusses. Designed as a one-bedroom, one-bath living space with dual mini splits for year-round comfort, this unit was created for a client who sold her Orange County home to invest in something closer to family while still maintaining her independence.

Every inch of this space was customized, managed, and built out by our team—from site prep to finish selection to final walkthrough. We worked closely with our client to ensure her new home felt peaceful, private, and personal—all within walking distance of her daughter’s home.

From foundation to finishes, the project took 8 months to complete, transforming an empty slope into a cozy, modern retreat that perfectly balances connection and autonomy.

This sleek, modern renovation features a bold black-and-white palette with striking black shaker cabinets and ultra-durable porcelain countertops that bring refined elegance to the heart of the home. A custom coffee bar and black finishes throughout add depth and cohesion, while a streamlined fireplace renovation ties the aesthetic seamlessly into the adjoining living space.

One standout feature is the Zip Water faucet system, chosen specifically for our tea-loving client from England, who wanted instant boiling water on demand—a thoughtful blend of style, function, and cultural comfort. The result is a minimalist, highly functional space with every detail curated to enhance daily rituals in a luxurious setting.
